Queensland Police QPSea Literacy Practice | Pass Literacy

Queensland Police applicants

QPS Entrance Assessment: the literacy component

The QPSea is ACER-administered and every applicant must pass its literacy component: 30 reading questions in 35 minutes, in multiple-choice and true/false formats. It's the same test style as the Victoria Police EST's literacy sections, and the same skills you'll use every shift reading briefs and writing statements.

What the QPSea literacy component involves

  • Reading comprehension: passages and workplace-style documents with questions on content, purpose and inference.
  • Multiple-choice and true/false formats under time pressure: 30 questions, 35 minutes, remote-proctored online.
  • The QPSea also includes abstract reasoning and a written expression task. We focus on the literacy component, where structured practice moves your score most; we won't pretend to cover the rest.
  • A pass is valid for 3 years, and QPS Recruiting pays for your first attempt, so walking in prepared matters.
