FRV Written Selection Test: the literacy component

FRV's Written Selection Test assesses literacy alongside numeracy: reading comprehension and written English skills, tested under time pressure as one component of a competitive selection process. Two full practice papers are live now, free in early access.

What our FRV literacy papers cover

  • Two 30-question papers in the WST's style: reading comprehension of workplace and everyday documents plus language conventions, in multiple-choice, statement-judgement and typed formats.
  • Fire-service contexts throughout the workplace questions: station notices, procedures, rosters, incident summaries and community fire-safety material.
  • Every question mapped to the Australian Core Skills Framework at Levels 2 to 4, with a worked explanation and Sage AI coaching.
  • Because FRV selection is competitive rather than pass/fail, a stronger literacy score strengthens your overall ranking, the same logic as the numeracy component.
